OXY-FUEL GAS CUTTING PROCESS (MANUAL CUTTING)

Students are educated how to use Oxy Acetylene Cutting equipment, the setup
of gauges, connections, and the mixture settings on the cutting torch. The
students will learn how to do a straight cut and bevelling, using the cutting
torch. This includes all safety procedures concerning cutting equipment
and the environment.

OXY-ACETYLENE GAS WELDING PROCESS

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students are educated how to use Oxy Acetylene Welding equipment,
the setup of gauges, connections, and the mixture settings on the
Welding torch. The students will learn how to do straight beads,
fillet welds and butt welds, using the welding torch. This includes
all safety procedures concerning welding equipment and the environment.

CORED-WIRE WELDING PROCESS (FLUX CORE)

welding and how the FCAW process works. Students will be able
to perform a fillet and groove weld with or without backing in

to each student, upon successful completion.

SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING PROCESS (SMAW-PLATE)

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students is educated on arc welding safety and the Shielded Metal Arc
Welding process (SMAW-Plate), proper techniques and electrode selection
for welding plate in various welding positions (1G,2G,3G,4G) to meet ASME
welding code. Each student will learn how the SMAW process works and
able to perform a fillet and groove weld with or without backing in all
positions with a 6010 and 7018 electrode. Each student will learn safety,
welding rod functions, and welding in various positions. To complete the
course student must be able to pass a skills test after each welding position.
After successful completion, each student receives a certificate.

DURATION
4-6 Weeks
Section 1: - Fillet weld with down hand, vertical up, overhead and 1G groove weld
Section 2: - 2G, 3G and 4G

Students will be empowered to perform general entry level production and maintenance welding in:
Power plant or refineries on mild steel, stainless steel and carbon steel,
Machine shops, oilfield, pipeline, petrochemical or
Fabrication plants where pre-manufacturing is assembled.
